GPI / Careers / Electrical Controls Engineer


General Plasma Electrical and Controls engineers design the electrical systems for powering and controlling vacuum coating equipment. In partnership with Mechanical Engineers, you will start with customers requirements and turn them into detailed designs, component specifications, and control systems. You will work on projects from inception through to installation at the customers site. In the process you will develop an in-depth understanding of vacuum coating technology and the art of building the best thin-film deposition tools in the world.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years professional experience designing automated machinery; experience with vacuum coating machinery a big plus (but not mandatory)
  • Familiarity with the design of power distribution systems
  • Knowledge of UL, CE and NEC requirements a plus
  • Prior demonstration of success as indicated by academic performance, achievement in the workplace and / or outside technical hobbies.
